Renewable Energy Management
Welcome to the Renewable Energy Management Program at Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO)! We are excited to have you join us, particularly sophomores, juniors, and seniors, pursuing a minor or concentration in this impactful field.
The program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and practical experience needed to address the energy sector's challenges. The program, which consists of 18 credit hours, is overseen by Dr. Igwe Udeh, Dean of the College of Business and Public Administration, with faculty members from across the university who have collaborated to develop and teach courses. Together, they offer a comprehensive education in energy management, sustainability, and renewable energy solutions.
We look forward to supporting students as they develop the skills and expertise necessary to become leaders in this rapidly evolving industry.
Renewable Energy Defined: Renewable energy is energy derived from natural sources that are replenished on a human timescale, such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, waves, geothermal heat, and more. Unlike fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas), which are finite and take millions of years to form, renewable energy sources are sustainable because they are naturally replenished and don't deplete over time.
