About Generation Hope

Generation Hope is an organization dedicated to supporting student-parents as they pursue higher education while caring for their families. Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) is proud to partner with Generation Hope to support this initiative and help connect student-parents with resources, advocacy, and community support that promote academic success. Our Core Competencies for Student Parent Success are:

  1. Policy: Developing and implementing policies that positively impact student parents.
  2. Data: Enhancing data collection to better understand and support student-parents.
  3. People: Providing training and awareness to staff, faculty, and administration about student parents' needs.
  4. Culture: Creating a campus culture that fosters a welcoming environment for student parents.

Our goal is simple:

Remove barriers. Build support. Help student-parents thrive.

When student-parents are supported, families succeed—and so does our campus community.
