Mission Statement:

The Office of Student Leadership and Engagement is an essential part of Southern University at New Orleans. Its mission is to seek and create opportunities that inspire students to become active members of the campus and the community. This office serves as a liaison between the student body and the university. Providing students with a variety of opportunities to explore their academic, professional, political, social, cultural, recreational, spiritual, and community interests. Student Activities strives to enhance the lives of the students that we encounter daily and encourage those students to engage other students in elevating the student life experiences. Student organizations allow students to develop interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills in a supportive yet challenging environment. It’s our duty to encourage students to assume leadership roles and explore their interests.
