Reporting Options

Some survivors find that reporting is an important step toward healing. Every person’s situation is different, and the decision to report is completely up to the survivor. A Victim Advocate can help you to understand your options and support you throughout the entire reporting process.

You can make a report to Law Enforcement to initiate a criminal investigation.

For law enforcement assistance contact Southern University at New Orleans Police Department (504) 286-3355.

In an emergency call 911

You can make a report to the SUNO Office of Title IX to initiate a University-based investigation.

Call (504) 286-5362 to receive more information on a Title IX complaint.

Reporting processes can be complicated and overwhelming. The Victim Advocate at the Center for Prevention & Advocacy can provide you with support and information to understand your options and make the choice that is best for you. Call the Center for Prevention & Advocacy at (504) 286-5289 during business hours and ask to speak with the Victim Advocate.
