Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved with the Center for Prevention and Advocacy, the Anti-Violence Against Women movement, or prevention of and awareness about interpersonal violence, including:
-Make a commitment to be nonviolent in your own life.
-Be an positive active bystander when you notice language, behavior or actions that are perpetuating violence.
-Challenge those attitudes and behaviors in others that promotes or encourages the abuse or degradation of others.
-Volunteer as a confidential advocate.
-Volunteer to help out with our annual programs.
-Coordinate a program for your student group or residence hall.
-Actively support and participate in campus and community education programs related to interpersonal violence.
-Like us on Facebook.
-Support legislation around issues of interpersonal violence.
-Participate in Campus Prevention efforts.
-Believe survivors when they come forward.
-Be creative and let us know!
Academics & Administrative Departments
Faculty and staff have critical roles to play in reducing the incidence and impact of violence on students. The Violence Prevention & Advocacy Program can help you with everything from a one-time training to designing and implementing a comprehensive plan to prevent violence within your school or department. Student Organizations
Student organizations breathe culture and community into our campus life. They also offer important opportunities to create spaces where sex- and gender-based violence and harassment are intentionally prevented and addressed. Peer Ambassador Program

Violence Prevention Intership Program
Violence Prevention interns do project-based work and support violence prevention initiatives, which can include assisting with event planning, outreach, ongoing programming, marketing, and evaluation. Interns typically intern 10-20 hours a week through an internship class for credit.
