What is R.A.D. Systems?
R.A.D. is an acronym for rape aggression defense. R.A.D. Systems was established in an effort to combat attacks against women and to guard against abduction. it is a national self-defense course designed for women. the mission of the course is to develop and enhance the options of self-defense, so they may become viable considerations to the woman who is attacked. The course provides realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women only and is also designed to help women overcome the effects of sexual violence by teaching assertiveness, awareness, risk reduction, and avoidance. All courses are taught by certified R.A.D. instructors.
How much is the Basic Physical Defense Course?
The basic physical defense course is free of charge for Southern University at New Orleans female faculty, staff, and students.
What are the physical fitness requirements?
There are no physical fitness requirements to partake in the course. Any woman, regardless of physical condition or limitation, size, and/or height, is welcome to participate.
How do I sign up for a course?
The Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) online request form is for your convenience. A member of the RAD training team will contact you as soon as possible regarding class information & confirmation.
