The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is the component of the accreditation process that reflects and affirms the commitment of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), to the enhancement of the quality of higher education and to the proposition that student learning is at the heart of the mission of all institutions of higher learning.

Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) believes in providing a whole campus approach for our students.

We prepare effective, caring and highly qualified teachers for any K-12 classroom. The nuts and bolts of the certification-only program is teaching and learning. To that end, our program welcomes former educators as well as educators in the making. We understand that intensive does not mean better and that fast-tracking does not equate to quality. Therefore, we strive to recruit the most qualified individuals to teach students; taking into consideration a review of past academic and professional performance.

SUNOPD provides a full spectrum of police services to the campus, including 24/7/365 patrol and emergency response by the Patrol Division trained to patrol on bike, on foot, or in vehicles, as well as community policing, investigations, traffic, and education and training divisions.

The Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs (OGSP) is responsible for assisting faculty, staff and administrators with pre-award services; such as preparing and submitting proposals, developing and conducting workshops and seminars, and providing regulatory oversight.

The Office of Veterans Services provides individual counseling sessions and referrals to SUNO students, faculty, staff, and alumni. In addition, our office sponsors activities, programs, and workshops for people seeking career advancement opportunities.
