Student Advising & Support

Students interested in the Evening & Weekend BSN Pathway at Southern University at New Orleans are supported by a Pre-Nursing Advisor before they apply to the program.

Pre-Nursing Advising (Before Admission)
Ms. Tori Allen serves as the Pre-Nursing Advisor for students who are preparing to apply to the BSN program.

Ms. Allen helps students with:

• Understanding admission requirements
• Reviewing prerequisite courses
• Planning next steps before applying

She advises pre-nursing students only.

After Admission to the BSN Program
Once students are admitted into the Evening & Weekend BSN Pathway, advising is provided by School of Nursing faculty and program leadership. At that point:

• Students move through the program as part of a cohort
• Advising focuses on course progression, clinical requirements, and graduation planning

Scheduling an Advising Appointment

• Students may contact Ms. Allen by email or phone to schedule an advising appointment
• Advising is primarily offered during regular business hours
• Virtual advising options may be available upon request

Students are encouraged to meet with the Pre-Nursing Advisor early to ensure they are on track to apply.
