Curriculum / Plan of Study

The Evening & Weekend BSN Pathway at Southern University at New Orleans follows the same high-quality nursing curriculum as the traditional BSN program. The difference is when classes are offered, not what students learn.

  • Students complete nursing courses that prepare them for safe, professional nursing practice
  • Courses include classroom learning, skills labs, simulation, and clinical experiences
  • The program is designed to help students build knowledge step by step

A downloadable Plan of Study (PDF) is available for the Evening & Weekend BSN Pathway here.

This document shows:

  • Required courses by semester
  • When clinical courses begin
  • How long the program takes to complete

How Courses Progress

  • Year 1: Foundational nursing courses, skills labs, and early clinical experiences
  • Year 2: Advanced nursing courses, leadership content, and final clinical experiences

This structured plan helps students stay on track and plan work and family responsibilities in advance
