Welcome to the Mathematics department at Southern University at New Orleans!

The Mathematics department is committed to providing a rigorous and comprehensive education in mathematics, and we strive to prepare our students to succeed in a variety of careers and graduate programs.

Our faculty members are highly experienced and dedicated to providing excellent instruction, advising, and mentoring to our students. They are actively engaged in research and scholarship in various areas of mathematics.

Our curriculum is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in mathematics and to develop their critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. We offer a range of undergraduate programs, including a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with Secondary Education Certification, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with Computer Science. We also offer a minor in Mathematics for students who wish to supplement their major with a strong background in mathematics.

In addition to our undergraduate programs, we also offer a Master of Science in Mathematics, which provides students with advanced training in mathematics and prepares them for careers in academia, industry, and government. Our graduate program emphasizes both theoretical and applied mathematics, and students have the opportunity to conduct research in various areas of mathematics under the guidance of our faculty members.

We also offer a variety of opportunities for our students to get involved in mathematics outside of the classroom. Our Math Club provides students with the opportunity to explore mathematics in a relaxed and supportive environment, and to participate in mathematics competitions and events. We also offer tutoring and mentoring services to help students succeed in their coursework and achieve their academic goals.
