Clery Act | Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
Preparation of the Annual Security Report and Disclosure of Crime Statistics
The Southern University at New Orleans Police Department prepares this report to comply with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security and Crime Statistics Act using the information maintained by SUNOPD, the information provided by other University offices such as the Center for Student Conduct, Residential and Student Services Programs, and other Campus Security Authorities and information provided by local law enforcement agencies surrounding the campus. Each of these offices provides updated policy information and crime data.
This report provides statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings, or property owned, leased, or controlled by the University. This report also includes University policies and procedures about SUNOPD, including policies regarding sexual and gender-based violence, alcohol and drugs, and maintaining a safe campus. The University distributes a notice of the availability of this Annual Security Report by October 1 of each year to every member of the University community with a link to the report. Anyone, including prospective students and employees, may obtain a paper copy of this report by contacting SUNOPD at (504) 286-5290.
