As Southern University at New Orleans celebrates 70 years of transforming lives, we have an incredible opportunity to honor our legacy while investing in our future through SUNO Give Day on Thursday, August 27.

This year's campaign theme, "Our Roots Run Deep," reflects the foundation upon which SUNO was built. For seven decades, our roots have been planted in resilience, access, excellence, and service to the New Orleans community. They have weathered challenges, nurtured generations of leaders, and continue to grow stronger with every student whose life is transformed by a SUNO education. Now, it is our responsibility to ensure those roots continue to flourish for the next 70 years and beyond.

The success of Give Day depends on every member of our university community. It takes all of us—our leadership, faculty, staff, alumni, students, retirees, and supporters—to tell the SUNO story and inspire others to invest in our mission. When our campus leadership leads by example, others are encouraged to do the same.

On Thursday, August 27, we’re calling on alumni, students, faculty, staff, and the entire New Orleans community to show love to Southern University at New Orleans — a proud HBCU shaping the leaders, innovators, and change-makers of tomorrow.
