The Master of Arts in Museum Studies at Southern University at New Orleans prepares students for meaningful careers in museums, cultural centers, archives, historic sites, galleries, and community arts organizations.

As the only graduate program in Museum Studies in Louisiana, SUNO offers a unique training model that combines academic rigor with extensive hands-on learning. Students gain a deep understanding of museum theory, history, ethics, and leadership while developing practical skills in collections care, curatorship, exhibition development, digital strategies, and museum administration.
