Go Grant
The Louisiana GO Grant
The Louisiana GO Grant is funded through the State of Louisiana’s Office of Student Financial Assistance in Baton Rouge, LA., for the Fall and Spring semesters only. Students enrolled full-time will be awarded the maximum amount at Southern University at New Orleans, which is $750 per semester; students enrolled from half-time to three-quarter hours (6-11 hours) will receive $500.00 per semester.
In order to qualify for the Louisiana GO Grant a student must be:
- Louisiana resident
- Pell Grant eligible with a valid FAFSA on the Banner System
- Be enrolled in an eligible Louisiana institution on at least a half-time basis (minimum of 6 credit hours each during Fall and Spring semesters)
- Have a remaining financial need after Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) and all federal/state/institutional grant or scholarship aid (“gift aid”) deducted from student’s Cost of Attendance (COA) budget; and, (NOTE: Gift aid is: Federal Pell Grant; Federal SEOG; TOPS; TOPS Stipend and Institutional Scholarships)
NOTE: Preference will be given to those students who are age 25 or older; however everyone is eligible to apply. Awards will be granted by the availability of funds; applications will be declined once the available funds for the semester are exhausted.
