JAMAL "TALL" GIBSON FEATURED ON FOX 8 LIVE!!!

JAMAL "TALL" GIBSON FEATURED ON FOX 8 LIVE!!!

Jamal "Tall" Gibson is setting the standard for excellence for SUNO Knights Men's Basketball. Last week, in two games against Oakwood and Fisk, Gibson helped the Knights go 1-1 to end their regular season, defeating Oakwood (91-78) and nearly knocking off Fisk, the fourth-ranked team in the conference, 76-79.

In two games, he shot 50% from the field, 33.3% from beyond the arc, and played all 80 minutes. He dominated the paint with 52 points, 6 blocks, 4 steals, and 35 rebounds -- notching a game-high in rebounds against both opponents. His 27 points against Oakwood was also a game-high.

His performances against Oakwood and Fisk helped Gibson secure his place in history in the NAIA, the GCAC, and SUNO. He broke the single-season program record for points (579), rebounds (453), double-doubles (27), and is now second in program history for blocks in a single season (65).

The two games also pushed him to breaking the GCAC record for rebounds per game in a single season and total rebounds in a single season. He remains No. 1 in the NAIA in all rebounding categories, and his 16.2 rebounds per game ranks third in NAIA history. His career-high 25 rebounds also ranks third in NAIA history.

His stats are unheard of for most veteran players, but for someone who has never played organized basketball, his stats make him seem supernatural.

And people are noticing.

Tall was recently featured on Fox 8 Live, and like they said from the start, he has gone from being the now 10-time GCAC Player and Newcomer of the Week to being the frontrunner for the GCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year. A tall task for many, but for SUNO's Tall, nothing is impossible.
