Delgado & SUNO Announce Partnership to Prepare Cybersecurity Professionals 

(New Orleans, LA) Today, Delgado Community College Chancellor Larrisa Littleton-Steib, Ph.D. and Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) Chancellor James H. Ammons, Jr., Ph.D. formalized an articulation agreement for the Cybersecurity Degree Pathway, which is designed to train future cybersecurity practitioners for workforce demands in the field of information technology.  

Through the articulation agreement, Delgado graduates who earn an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Technology or the Information Security/Assurance Career and Technical Certificate may transfer required credits and enroll in SUNO’s competitive Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity degree program.  

Chancellor Littleton-Steib said, “Delgado is committed to advancing strategic partnerships that ensure our graduates maintain a competitive advantage. Cybersecurity is a rapidly evolving field that provides competitive job opportunities and earnings, and this agreement with SUNO provides a seamless transition for Delgado’s information technology graduates to further their studies and careers.” 

Chancellor Ammons said, "Through this partnership, we are proud to offer a seamless pathway for Delgado’s information technology graduates to pursue further studies and careers in cybersecurity. We are excited to expand our partnership with Delgado and contribute to the workforce demands in the field of information technology by training future cybersecurity practitioners."  

According to the most recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median salary for information technology professionals is $112,000, and careers in this field are expected to grow 32% faster than average between now and 2032.
