Applying for Housing
Welcome Home, Knights!
Incoming Students
Please read the following information carefully so you are prepared to fill out the mandatory housing application.
First-time freshmen are assigned to a quad unit during their first year on campus.
Submitting Your Application
You will be able to access the housing application via the link above. You must complete all sections that apply to you.
Changes to the application may not be made online after submission. If changes need to be made after submitting the application, please email the requested change to Housing@suno.edu.
Housing Damage Deposit (Refundable) = $250.00 (in addition to the non-refundable $200 HAPP fee. This fee will be automatically added to the student account.)
Internet & Cable Fee = $50.00 (every semester)
If you are interested in staying in SUNO apartments, you are required to apply no later than May 1 each year. At the time of submittal, it is your responsibility to pay the $250 Housing Deposit. This deposit can be paid over the phone with the Office of the Bursar or by visiting the Bursar on the 1st Floor in the Bashful Adminstration Building.
Note: The housing fee ($200), non refundable, will be posted to your student account.
As it pertains to payment, the Cashiers office will be open to receive housing deposits in person and over the phone for those students who cannot make it to campus. If you have any questions regarding this, please make sure you contact bursar@suno.edu or contact the Cashiers Office at (504) 286-5322.
Housing assignments will be shared to students via official suno email no later than July 1 of each year. If you have not applied, paid your Housing Deposit ($250), and received the green confirmation message that states "you have completed the registration process" via self-service banner, you will not be assigned an apartment. For additional information feel free to connect with us via email at housing@suno.edu.
Transfer students who have been admitted and desire to live on campus should complete the mandatory online housing application. (Verify with the Office of Financial Aid your award package).
Room Assignments
Please understand that all housing assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis once your online application has been received. We will do everything we can to grant your first choice and preferences; however, we cannot guarantee that requests will be accommodated.
In early July, you will receive move-in instructions. You will be notified of your room assignment, which will include your room number, mailing address, and the name and contact information for your roommate(s), by an email sent to your new SUNO email account. If you do not have access to your SUNO email this summer, please notify us, and we will send an email to your personal account.
Wait List
Note that housing is limited and NOT guaranteed. Students will be placed on a waitlist if we are unable to accomodate all housing request.
