The primary function of this Title III Activity is to increase the number of students graduating in Forensic Science and to increase the identification and application of grant awards for forensic science faculty.  Forensic Science is one of the high-need subject areas in STEM fields at the national level. The number of Forensic Science graduates among minorities and women is very low; therefore, this Title III Activity fits well within the mission of Southern University at New Orleans, whose mission is to empower and promote the upward mobility of diverse populations of traditional and nontraditional students through quality academic programs and services.

This Activity sets out to identify and apply grant awards for forensic science laboratory enhancements, and student research activities.  In 2019, this Title III Activity will prepare for its FEPAC accreditation and enhance efforts to recruit more Forensic Science majors.
