Service Animal Policy

To protect the interest and safety of the employees, it is the policy of the University to not allow pets in any University building. “Pets are considered animals, domestic or wild, in the company of a student, faculty member, guest or visitor to the University and does not apply to service animals.

In compliance with applicable laws and statutes, service animals are allowed on campus and in classrooms. The following conditions must be adhered to:

  • A person with a documented disability who because of functional limitation require a Service animal to perform a task or function and allowed in all public places.
  • Service for Students with Disabilities determines the person with a disability must register the service animal with the Disability Office. The service animal must be vaccinated, harnessed and leashed and certified by a veterinarian.
