Office of Disability Services

The Office of Disability Services addresses the needs of a diverse population and provides special assistance, accommodations and appropriate services/programs to ensure accessibility and to meet the needs of individuals with documented disabilities. The primary purpose of the program is to instill a sense of self-advocacy in students with disabilities and to provide auxiliary aids in an effort to ensure full participation in all university activities and programs.

The Office of Disability Services offers academic support services and resources that cannot be developed or adequately provided by other campus departments. Such support services and resources include, but are not limited to, tutorial services, enlarge printed materials, test-proctoring, and specialized computerized equipment.

Students with disabilities are encouraged to contact the Office of Disability Services upon admission to the University and to provide official documentation regarding the nature of their disability. If you are a student with a documented disability and will require academic accommodations while enrolled in an online class, please e-mail a copy of your academic schedule to the disability office at jwilliam@suno.edu, so that your specific accommodation forms can be presented to your instructor for notification. It is important for you to communicate with your instructors so that they are aware that additional time may be required to complete assignments or exams.

All information received is confidential and released with the written consent of the student, except in emergency cases.

Academic Adjustments

Once a student has identified him or herself as an individual with a disability and has requested an academic adjustment and provided appropriate documentation upon request, the institution staff will discuss with the student what academic adjustments are appropriate in light of the student’s individual needs and the nature of the program of study.
