JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Field is responsible for sustaining quality and accreditation standards of the Field Education Program, the "signature pedagogy" of BSW and MSW Social Work Education. Duties include supervision of field staff and field instruction, development of policies and procedures for implementing field sites, leadership in the development and monitoring of placement sites and work with the faculty integrating the field program with the curriculum. The Field Director works under the supervision of the School's Dean. The Director works closely with the Field Liaison and the Directors of the BSW and MSW programs.

Essential Functions

Ensure the overall administration of the Field Education is in compliance with the Council on Social Work Education Accreditation Standards.

• Recruit, assess and approve Field Education agencies and Field Supervisors.

• Finalize and file Memorandums of Agreement between field agencies, community organizations, programs and the University.

• Identify, plan and implement Field Supervisor orientations and training sessions.

• Be available as consultant to Field Faculty and Supervisors.

• Maintain all application forms.

• Provide orientation to Field Faculty.

• Is available as consultant to Field Faculty.

• Maintain updated syllabi and evaluation forms for Foundation and Advanced Field Courses.

• Resolve problems and concerns related to Field Education.

• Coordinate the placement of students to field Education agencies.

• Plan and implement student orientations.

• Monitor and evaluate student progress in field Education.

• Maintain updated forms related to student Field Education.

• Resolve problems and concerns related to Field Education.

• Administer and oversight of Intern Tracking System (ITS) database.

Required Education and Experience

• MSW from CSWE accredited program with Ph.D./DSW preferred.

• State Licensure with LCSW preferred

• 5 years higher education administrative experience, including with diverse populations.

• Advanced knowledge of social work practice and demonstrated knowledge of CSWE accreditation standards relating to Field Education.

Additional Education and Experience

• Knowledge of online field programming.

• Organized and detail oriented.
