SUNO Track Team Brings Home 2 National Championships


NEW ORLEANS, LA – March 12, 2018 – The SUNO Track Team won two championships and broke records at the 2018 NAIA Indoor Track National Championships in Pittsburg, KS earlier this month.
The Lady Knights won two championships (400m Dash and 4x400m Relay), finished third out of 62 colleges with 13 All-Americans, and broke the 4x400m relay and facility records.

The Knights finished with six All-Americans and finished 27th out of 70 schools.

In addition, Younne Reid, in his first season as head track coach, won Coach of the Year for the Southern Region of the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) 2018 Indoor Track & Field Season.

Coach Reid led the Knights to a third-place ranking in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) this season. His squad had 11 athletes reach top-10 NAIA Descending Order List Marks on the year, including the top-ranked 4x400m Relay Team.
