Power Outage Scheduled on Park Campus Dec. 27-30

Tuesday, November 29, 2016
Construction of the new Central Plant is on schedule and the Contractor has projected a completion date for the project in late March/April, 2017. A part of this project will entail the installation of a new electrical service entry, switch and transformers to service the existing electrical infrastructure on the Park Campus. In order to accommodate the aforementioned, an electrical power outage on the Park Camps will be required to install the new electrical service. Electricity to the Park Campus will be terminated at 7 a.m. Dec. 27 until 4 p.m. Dec. 30.

The Park Campus, ONLY, will be locked down Tuesday, Dec. 27,2016. No one will be allowed to enter any building until 4 p.m. Dec. 30, 2016. If access is needed to any buildings on the Park Campus during this time period, an escort must be arranged with Campus Police ahead of schedule. Faculty and staff that work in Park Campus buildings should take necessary precautions to secure their offices, refrigerator, water coolers and appliances prior to departing campus on Dec. 20, 2016. Faculty with research projects and experiments should secure their research off campus for the duration of the power outage. The Contractor nor the University will be able to guarantee the environmental conditions of buildings during this outage.

If anyone has any questions regarding this outage, please contact Facilities Management at 504-286-5292. To arrange access to buildings during the outage, contact Campus Police at 504-286-5290.
