Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies Summer Program Begins June 5

The Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies Learning Institute (HMHB) will hosts its annual six-week summer program at Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO).

The program will run June 5-July 14, 2017 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be served daily. Before Care (7-7:30 a.m.) and After Care (3-6 p.m.) is available.
 
The mission of the program, which has operated on SUNO’s campus for the past 5 years, is to enhance retention of children’s grade-specific academic knowledge and well-being through a nutrition-science integrated curriculum (English –Language Arts, Math, Science and Financial Literacy) and physical activities (swimming, golf, tennis, dance) during out-of-school periods. The 6-12-year-old children also will take weekly field trips and participate in life-skills workshops and on-site gardening.
