Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies Program Approved

The College of Education & Human Development is excited to announce that the Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies(BSES) was approved by the Louisiana Board of Regents  Aug. 23, 2017. Admission to the program, which begins this fall semester and replaces Elementary Education, does not require Praxis. 

The Bachelor in Educational Studies focuses on general theory and the practice of learning and teaching, basic principles of educational psychology, the art of teaching, and the planning and administration of educational activities that can lead to careers inside or outside the traditional classroom. This non-certification degree prepares students to pursue alternate teacher certification or a graduate/professional degree in a variety of fields, such as curriculum and instruction, education administration, policy, research or law.

SUNO will launch a Doctor of Social Work program in Fall 2016. Information will be available in December and applications will be available in January 2016.
