SUNO to Host Academic Signing Day

NEW ORLEANS, LA – April 18, 2018 – Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) will host its annual Academic Signing Day from 8 a.m. -2 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Mille M. Charles School of Social Work Auditorium on the Lake Campus.
This presentation, similar to the national signing day for high school football players, will involve at least 100 students signing their academic letter of intent to attend SUNO, starting in the summer or fall semesters.
This event is designed to thank students and their families for joining the SUNO family. To help the new students celebrate, New Orleans rapper All Night Shawty is scheduled to perform. The students and their families also will be invited to attend a picnic, with food provided by Tiger’s Creole Cuisine.

“We welcome these students who have chosen Southern University at New Orleans as the next stop in their educational journey,” said Chancellor Lisa Mims-Devezin. “Academic Signing Day represents a unique way for us to demonstrate our on-going support of their academic pursuits.”

SUNO offers a wide range of baccalaureate programs, including the state’s only Forensic Science program, and offers graduate programs to meet regional and statewide needs.
