BEST Camp: Summer Camp for Elementary Students

Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) will host a two-week Mathematics and Science camp for students completing second, third and fourth grades by June 1, 2017. The Become Excellent in Science & Math by Training (BEST) Camp, funded under the federal Minority Science and Engineering Improvement Program (MSEIP), is intended to increase the interest of elementary school students in math and science.

There will be two sessions of the camp: June 5 – 16 and June 19 – 30. Students can choose only one session.

The camp will take place on the SUNO campus from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. Students will be engaged in hands-on math and science activities throughout the day, except for a 30-minute lunch break at the end of each day’s activities. All materials and lunch will be provided free of charge.
