The Criminal Justice Club sponsors a number of events each year, including social get-togethers with faculty, and students, guest speakers, student and faculty presentations of research, community service, fundraisers, attendance at regional and national conferences, and fieldtrips. The Criminal Justice Club does yearly fieldtrips to Angola, St. Gabriel, Sheriff’s office, Forensic Labs, and the Angola Rodeo.
Membership in the club offers an excellent opportunity to get to know faculty and fellow students outside of the classroom. The Criminal Justice Club is open to all students who have an interest in Criminal Justice whether or not they major or minor in Criminal Justice. University invites students to join the American Criminal Justice Association June 3, 2010
The American Criminal Justice Association, also known as Lambda Alpha Epsilon, invites students to find out more about SUNO's chapter. Lambda Alpha Epsilon is a nationally recognized honor society for students in the criminal justice sciences, and is devoted to the establishment of the highest standards of education and professionalism among its students and faculty along with the development of community partnerships.
To become a member, a student must have completed one-third of their total hours required for graduation at the University. The student must also be recommended by the chapter advisor. Undergraduates must maintain a minimum of 3.0 overall GPA, a 3.2 GPA in criminal justice courses. The student must also rank in the top 35% of their classes and have completed a minimum of four courses within the criminal justice curriculum. The Honor Society is open to those with a declared criminal justice major or minor.
The National membership initiation fee for the regular and honorary membership shall be $30.00. This shall entitle each new member to a pin, wallet membership card, and membership certificate. SUNO enters articulation agreement with Delgado Community College May 6, 2009
Southern University at New Orleans and Delgado Community College united to rekindle an articulation agreement between the two institutions as well as sign a two-plus-two agreement at a press conference on the SUNO Park Campus. Dr. Victor Ukpolo, the chancellor of SUNO and Dr. Ron Wright, the chancellor of Delgado, jointly signed the agreement.
The two-plus-two agreement calls for Delgado graduates from its associate degree programs in Biology, Mathematics or Criminal Justice to seamlessly transition into their junior years at SUNO's undergraduate programs in these three areas.
