Dr. Zheng Chen

Dr. Chen received his Ph.D. in applied and computational Mathematics from Florida State University. The title of his dissertation: Stochastic Stokes equations and the ANOVA expansion applied to efficient sampling methods for parameter dependent nonlinear PDEs. His research interests include stochastic partial differential equations, numerical analysis and scientific computation and finite element methods.

Dr. Heath has a Master's in Mathematics and a Ph. D. in Mathematics Education from the University of New Orleans.  Her areas of expertise include integrating teaching technology and teaching methodologies recommended by the NCTM standards, teaching mathematics to pre-service teachers, and training in-service teachers.  Dr. Heath served as the coordinator of assessment for NCATE and State Accreditations; her work contributed greatly to obtaining both accreditations.  Dr. Heath also completed the curriculum for Mathematics and Mathematics Education for the State Redesign.

Dr. Kim received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Louisiana State University.  The title of his dissertation is “Sign Ambiguities between Gaussian sums.”  His research interest is computational number theory.

Marinov

Dr. Marinov received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Bulgarian Academy of Science and University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Master Sciences degrees in Mathematics from University of Sofia and University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  His main research interests are in the areas of Differential Equations and Numerical Analysis.

He is the Campus Corridinator for SUNO’s Louisiana Alliance for Minority Participation (LAMP).  For his outstanding mentoring work, he was awarded the Presidential Award for Mentoring on November 16, 2007 at the White House.

Ms. Singleton's interest is in facilitating effective mathematics multimedia instructions based on students’ disposition and learning styles for this technological world.  Ms. Singleton is a member of the National Council of Teaching of Mathematics (NCTM), Mathematical Association of America (MAA), and National Association of Mathematics (NAM).
