	Dr. Sudipta Das Professor and Chair Multipurpose 236 (504) 286-5154 Dr. Das is a Full Professor who obtained her bachelor’s degree from Calcutta University in India with a honors in History. Her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees were received from Tulane University where she graduated top of her class in both categories winning the prestigious Seeley Dissertation Fellowship to conduct her research in French history in Paris, France. Dr. Das's teaching and research interests are in the areas of Eighteenth Century France, Modern Europe, United States, World Cultures, South Asia, Asian Americans in the United States, and Eastern Spiritualism. She has published two scholarly books on French history. Her first monograph won special recognition from the Alf Andrew Heggoy Book Committee of the French Historical Society, and was displayed at the Frankfurt Book Fair, one of the prominent book fairs on scholarly publications. Dr. Das has also published several articles in the European History Quarterly, Journal of Modern History, Journal of Urban History, Race, Gender, and Class and Africana Studies Review on European, Asian-American, and South Asian history. She iscurrently working on an article on cultural history for the Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies.
	Dr. Carmelo Astilla Assistant Professor Lake Campus 29B 504-286-5018 Dr. Astilla holds a masters and a doctorate from Louisiana State University. His teaching and research interests are in United States-Latin American Diplomatic Relations, Mexican History, Latin American Anthropology, Colonial and Modern Latin America, and Louisiana History. He is currently developing a course on the history of New Orleans. Also, he is currently completing a study of Filipinos in early 20th century Louisiana.
	Dr. Henry Efesoa-Mokosso Professor and Dean, College of Arts and Scineces Park Campus Multipurpose 203 (504) 284-5494 Dr. Mokosso is a native of Cameroon, and holds a B.A. (Hons.) Dip. Ed. from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, M.A. and Ph.D. from Howard University. Dr. Mokosso was Inspector of Schools, Principal of Government Teachers Training College Kumba, Cameroon, and Principal of the Royal Polytechnic College, Lagos, Nigeria. At Southern University at New Orleans where he is Professor of history, Mokosso served as Chairperson of the Department of Social Sciences, and he is Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University. Dr. Mokosso was the winner of system President’s Faculty Excellence Award. His teaching and research interests include African and African-American, U. S., and World history. Dr. Mokosso is the author of numerous academic and non-academic books and scholarly articles in refereed journals.
	Dr. Romanus Ejiaga Associate Professor and Director, Center for African and African American Studies Park Campus Administration 209 (504)-286-5006 Dr. Ejiaga is the founder and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Africana Studies and guest editor for the Journal of Educational Management all of which are refereed journals. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Louisiana Civil Rights Museum. Dr. Ejiaga has published two books and numerous articles in professional journals and is currently working on a book project titled: Dynamics of War and Diplomacy in Africa. His teaching and research interests are in the areas of African and African American and/or Black Diasporic experience, comparative civilizations and their contributions to the sum of human experience.
	Dr. Lenus Jack, Jr. Associate Professor and Co-Director of the Southern University at New Orleans Race, Gender and Class(SUNO RGC) Project Park Campus Multipurpose 237 Phone: 504-286-5157 Dr. Jack has been at SUNO since 1995, after teaching at Nicholls State University, Dillard University, Louisiana State University, Xavier University of Louisiana and the University of Pittsburgh. For the past five summers he has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Northern Iowa. His research interests include the intersection of race, gender and class, violence in Louisiana and colonial Caribbean history. As founder of the SUNO RGC Project and Caribbean History Abroad, Dr. Jack proudly promoted seven RGC international conferences and hosted the first Undergraduate Caribbean Conference at Sea in 2010. His Caribbean history courses have inspired students to travel with him and write and publish about such historic and exotic places as Jamaica, Cozumel, Aruba, the Dominican Republic, Dominica, Barbados, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
	Dr. Felix James Professor of History Park Campus Multipurpose 221 (504) 286-5153 Dr. James is a Full Professor whose teaching and research interests are in the following areas: Americans in the United States, African American History, History of Christianity, Imperialism into Africa, The Middle East, Medieval and Seventeenth Century Europe. He is currently writing his third book on the History of Southern University at New Orleans, and he is the author of a number of journal articles.
